About Lucille Renwick

Lucille Renwick is a 20+ year resident of New Rochelle, in the Glenwood Lake neighborhood, where she’s lived with her husband, Randy Archibold, and their three children, and dog, Scout.

Lucille’s community service in New Rochelle started years back with her involvement in the Glenwood Lake Association, for which she currently serves on the executive board. She also sits on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle and on Lifetime Arts, a New Rochelle-based national organization that supports arts education and engagement for older adults, with much of that teaching happening in local libraries around the nation.

A seasoned communications professional, with three decades of experience spanning the nonprofit, corporate and academic sectors, Lucille has vast expertise in delivering communications strategies to help organizations advance their causes and spread the word about their work. Lucille currently serves as Chief Communications Officer for Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, a private social justice and human rights foundation. Previously, she was Vice President at Fenton, a communications agency focused on social change. She also led communications for CUNY Law School, NYC’s only public law school, and was an executive editor with Scholastic. Lucille started her career in journalism, working as a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times and the Hartford Courant, in Connecticut. She earned a BA from Wesleyan University and an MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Lucille is an avid athlete. She’s a member of New Ro Runners and a longtime member of the New Rochelle YMCA.

Lucille has experienced first-hand the power and vital role of libraries in communities, first in her neighborhood in the Northeast Bronx and later as an editor at Scholastic and as a mother of children in New Rochelle. She  believes the library is one of New  Rochelle’s strongest and most vital institutions, and that NRPL needs strong and knowledgeable advocates and Trustees to work to insure its essential role serving our New Rochelle community now, and for future generations.
